rwpplasma41, I appreciate the citation in the X startup but really the authoritative source is in the source itself, which is a small number of shell scripts.02:30
rwp+1. The UNIX Programming Environment is one of the truly excellent works.02:31
rustytacoFunny you meaned the cal command, as i was just noticing i didnt have it installed earlier (:02:52
rustytacomentioned02:52
rustytacoi stumbled across 'ccal' package, it's quite offensive02:54
fsmithredI apologize. I thought you were exaggerating.03:00
fsmithredit even lingers like a bad taste03:01
rwpI use the cal command quite often.  It's one of the old commands.  But it very cooly tries to work for all time.  Try "cal September 1752" for example.  Transition from Julian to Gregorian calendar.03:02
rustytacorwp: what package it lives in?03:11
Xenguyncal03:13
Xenguy?03:13
rustytacoAh thanks03:14
Xenguynp03:14
rustytacoits previously just...been there (:03:14
XenguyMaybe it's a default install; the package lists as 'optional', so not sure03:16
rwpcal used to be in the bsdmainutils package and was split apart and into the new ncal package at some point.  So used to be there if the bsd utils were installed, but not now.04:03
Xenguyhuh, interesting04:09
XenguyCos we all need 'pom' you know, oh yes we do04:09
Xenguy$ pom04:10
XenguyThe Moon is Full04:10
Xenguy^^ I told you we needed it04:10
davespAfdal: Regarding "I don't really like to keep all my binaries in my home directory", if they're really just for your user ID, "~/bin" could work, and if they're intended for all users on your system, "/usr/local/bin" is an option (per "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filesystem_Hierarchy_Standard").23:14
AfdalI don't really like to keep all my binaries in my home or system files* :)23:14
davespWhat would be your preference?23:15
