| systemdlete | as some of you know, I've been very frustrated by defects in apt-cacher-ng. While browsing a few reddit posts, someone mentioned approx. It appears to be maintained, with recent (2024) updates. Does anyone here have experience with approx, know of issues, or rumors? Also, the version in the chimaera-backports seems to give me the same version as the regular unless I am reading it wrong. | 01:50 |

| systemdlete | approx also appears to have some sort of front-end manager, which would be nice (for fools like me, that is) | 01:50 |
| systemdlete | https://packages.debian.org/sid/approx for more info | 01:52 |
| onefang | Not heard of approx before. Compared to apt-cacher-ng it at least has the benefit of no systemd dependency, I suspect systemdlete might like that. | 02:25 |
| onefang | Let us know how you go. | 02:25 |
| rwp | Every time I have debugged a problem with apt-cacher-ng I have found that it was doing what it was told to do correctly. I can't blame the problems upon it. It's just incompatible with the system we currently have in place now. Or rather it's the reverse. | 02:35 |
