fsmithredI need to go out for a bit and then eat dinner. bbl.00:15
sensysbs=65536 worked, and I can start, but only in legacy mode. But, when next step is "detect and mount installation media" I retrieve "There was a problem reading data. Please make sure you have inserted the installation media correctly. If retrying does not work, you should check the integrity of your installation media (there is an associated entry in the main menu for that). Failed to copy file from01:51
sensysinstallation media. Retry?" I trying to use netinstall.iso(it's ok for it?, but it's can't see my wireless hardware) Thanks for help. I didn't have any problems before, with other distros. But overall I'm still a newbie.01:51
gnarfacewell first of all you gotta stay connected for responses...01:57

dgriffiHas anyone here experimented with Beowulf clustering using Devuan?08:18
ted-iousIs beowulf still a thing?08:21
ted-iousI thought that was a meme. :)08:21
gnarfacei have not, but seems like a fun idea08:26
gnarface(apache&mysql cluster probably a lot more useful though)08:27
gnarfaceif you did a beowulf cluster on devuan beowulf that would increase your meme score08:29
dgriffiGenerally I'm interested in creating a cluster to serve as a "personal supercomputer"09:24
rrqdokma: new improved isos have been published13:10
dokmaamazing. that was quick13:10
rrqI discovered that it just needed kmod-udeb added to the list; not sure why it'd been left out13:11
dokmaWhen that is missing busybox doesn't provide modprobe?13:13
buZzkmod-udeb is the normal modprobe tools added, i assume13:14
rrqbusybox-udeb doesn't have modpobe; possibly it was that it (and friends) got moved into a kmod-udeb13:14
buZzor the 'u' in udeb is 'embedded' and points to busybox?13:14
buZzahhh13:14
buZzdokma: congratz on the fix, just confirm it working and the world can rejoice in the new-found working stuff13:15
rrq"udeb" are the reduced-dependency minimal packages used in debian-installer, and devun's installer iso as well13:15
buZzah,like that13:15
rrqthey reside in the main/debian-installer section of the repository13:16
dokmaBut doesn't that mean that whoever published i386 didn't even attempt an install. From what I can gather, the installer without this fix cannot mount anything. That is probably why I got only "Do not use this partition" and "Swap" under "How to use this partition". There was no way to use it as a filesystem.13:17
rrqpossibly, though I'm unsure whether udev loads modules more directly than via modprobe13:18
buZzi dont think modprobe is always needed13:18
dokmaWell, the installer thought it couldn't mount anything...13:18
buZzsome modules get autoloaded even without /sbin/modprobe existing, iirc13:19
rrqyes, it may well have been that badly broken, though amd64 should have been the same, and I did do a crsory install with that13:20
rrqos, I don;t know. better now though13:20
buZziirc dokma checked amd64 and found it existing there13:20
dokmano, my cpu is 32bit13:20
dokmaI have Celeron M 42013:20
buZzah ok13:20
dokmaT7600 is on the way though! $1013:21
dokmaSo I'll have to reinstall 64bit13:21
rrqas we all know, the excalibur isos are "trial previews" with plenty of caveats and excuses lined up...13:22
buZzah, it was testing? alright, indeed13:23
dokmait's worth seeing my 6 and 8 year old using dwm and learning guile13:23
buZz:D cool13:23
coppola_i like devuan <320:20
masonThere's much to like.20:26
