sicelohi saeed. do you need any assistance?09:05
sicelod4 update: i've been able now to boot all the way to H-D, but it powered off again (prolly needs the new upower/mce treatment). i connected the battery directly to the +/- and connected the fried bms as well. guess some part of it is still functional enough to satisfy the BL12:33
uvosMBM dosent care one bit about the bms12:38
uvosyou can happly boot a d4 without it12:38
uvosit just cares about the voltage12:38
sicelowell it didn't boot without the bms. just showed motorola logo, then died even before kexecboot menu12:39
uvosim not sure whats going on your device but thats not the bms12:40
uvosi run a d4 whith the battery dirrectly connected to the device12:40
uvosno bms at all12:40
uvosno issues12:40
uvossame with running it off a lab supply12:40
siceloi'll give it a go again, since i haven't yet made things permanent12:41
sicelodroid 4's fuel gauge driver reports wrong sign for current_now, which causes upower to always consider it discharging. if anyone would like to work on that, would be great, otherwise i'll probably get to it a little later down the road13:51
siceloit reports -ve for charging state, while -ve should mean discharging13:51
sicelocreated issue so this does not get forgotten, https://git.maemo.org/leste/bugtracker/issues/77514:05
dsc_arno11: did qt5 launch time issue resolve?16:27
arno11dsc_: @qt5, not 'directly': fmg figured out that qt launch time is better if we use swap on a separate partition, but the issue itself is still there17:44
dsc_ok thx17:45
arno11(i still use the raster widget tweak to workaround that)17:46
Wizzupand the swap fix puts it on par with chimaera yeah?17:57
arno11approximatively yeah18:00
arno11but still very slow to open several qt apps at the same time18:00
arno11*approximatively with u318:01
sicelofun ... the mce logic is still flawed to some extent. will sent updated fixes shortly. my droid 4 keeps powering off :p18:12
siceloWizzup: uvos: mce fix, https://git.maemo.org/leste/mce/pulls/65/21:02
sicelogreat to have the D4 running again :-)22:54
siceloarno11: i'll still work on the N900's call issue, but i will take a 3-week hiatus ... have lots of work coming up22:54
siceloi already tested cmtspeech as a permanent client. it seems to be promising - i had observed occassional crashes before, but not even one as a permanent client.22:56
sicelohowever, the PA simple api is a bit terrible for this, so in order to be really effective, i'll change it to the asynchronous calls22:57
arno11sicelo: ok @hiatus. in the meanwhile, if you want me to test some code, don't hesitate to ask23:06
arno11cool @permanent client23:09
arno11and cool @d4 working :)23:10
arno11i will try to finish (properly) sphone keypad stuff next week btw, but not so easy for a non-dev to make something 'uvos compliant' :P23:13
arno11but that's already cool to be able to use a landscape keypad23:14
siceloand that's what's great about being able to compile and run your own stuff - if upstream doesn't like it, you can still use it ;-)23:24
arno11;)23:25
arno11sicelo: Wizzup: btw to make boost mode easy to use, maybe we can add a new script in desktop-cmd-exec widget ? like when we click on it, it activates boost and show the max freq, and another click to deactivate it23:41
arno11(i already use something similar, really useful imo)23:42
siceloby all means feel free :-)23:46
* sicelo has still never used boost in Leste, but will try some day23:46
arno11ah, btw you should use at least 500MHz min freq23:48
sicelowhat was the 'evil' frequency btw? 125MHz?23:49
arno11yeah23:49
sicelois it already removed in Leste, or one must remove it manually?23:50
arno11yep already removed in kernel23:50
arno11(dts)23:51
sicelocool23:51
arno11but 250MHz is also a problem, not directly but badly used by governor23:56
arno11using 500 or 250 makes actually no diff in term of pm23:57
arno11apart the fact that the device feels slower with 250 min freq23:58
