arno11Wizzup: looking @irc logs and kernel configs for 5.1, 6.1, 6.6: CONFIG_CPUFREQ_DT=y on 6.6 instead of =m in all other kernels.10:40
arno11could be a problem or ?10:44
sicelodoesn't look like something that should cause any issues10:46
arno11ok10:51
arno11just curious10:51
Wizzupthis is because of a kernel regression11:36
WizzupI do not think it is related11:36
Wizzupsorry, I got pulled into some stuff yesterday, tomorrow I can check serial11:36
arno11ok thx11:43
inkyi would like to report here, that pinephone keyboard started to work properly with maemo when i copied whole /usr/share/X11/xkb to maemo from postmarketos.13:29
inkybefore, i found that inet file contains 'ppkb' section but it wasn't enough just to copy that file.13:30
inkyproperly means - like it is drawn on it.13:30
siceloinky: have a look at n900 (and maybe droid4) leste-config packages... you'll see how the keyboard stuff is packaged.14:16
sicelothen do same in the pinephone config14:17
siceloor, submit the changes to https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/xkb-data14:21
arno11USB charging issue: i'm able to reproduce the issue 100% of time now:15:35
arno111- connect to 3G/3.5G network  2-plug usb charger  3-turn off the screen while charging15:37
arno11after a couple of minutes/tens of minutes, the device stops charging15:37
arno11usb still works but impossible to charge until reboot15:38
arno11no issue if 3G network is not connected while charging15:39
arno11a bit weird15:39
arno11can someone confirm on n900 or maybe on d4 ?15:40
arno11(no issue if wifi is connected btw)15:43
uvos__arno11: dose it really stop charging or dose it only not report charging anymore16:00
uvos__the latter could maybe happen if h-s-m crashes16:00
uvos__which cuold be related to network type, since everything is in one process in this somewhat unfortionate status menu design.16:01
arno11ah ok. yes it really stops charging (current draw reports 'normal' mA's)16:03
uvos__hm ok16:05
uvos__no idea then16:05
uvos__strange16:05
arno11yes16:05
siceloarno11: with the little i know about N900, that should not happen16:47
sicelowhat kind of charger are you using for the test? (in case the current draw of the device is higher than the charger + battery can supply during those moments)16:48
siceloit's the "impossible to charge until reboot" that sounds absolutely impossible, so let's do the following test:16:49
sicelo1. do you have /sys/class/power_supply/bq24150-a/ sysfs dir? and 2. /sys/class/power_supply/isp170*/ ?16:50
sicelowhen you're in the "impossible to charge" state, with charger still connected, please share the contents of all the files under those two dirs16:52
sicelomay also add /sys/class/power_supply/bq27200-0/ as well. use a pastebin16:52
arno11ok, i can't right now but in 2-3 hours (no charger around atm)16:53
sicelosure, no rush16:53
siceloi don't want to rush to conclusions, but the strongest suspicion would fall on hardware problem, aka bad usb cable, bad charger, or on-the-way-to-fail usb port (very common failure on n900!)16:56
arno11yes i know that, but i tried with 3 diff chargers and there is absolutely no issue if 3G is not connected16:57
arno11my main charger is a good samsung 3A btw16:58
arno11i already try with diff cable too16:58
arno11and no trouble in fremantle16:59
arno11so really weird stuff16:59
sicelook. sysfs should help us find answers. it's possible 3G requires a lot of current ... but it shouldn't cause inability to charge until reboot.17:03
arno113G don't require lot of current btw (i doublechecked)17:07
arno11almost nothing (few mA)17:07
arno11ok for sysfs17:08
arno11one more thing: another (old) issue: if you charge the battery and then unplug usb, idle increases of around 7-10mA until next reboot17:10
arno11usually 7mA on n90017:11
arno1154mA instead of 47mA17:11
arno11so maybe something is wrong with usb modules17:12
arno11and maybe the 3G/usb issue is old too17:15
arno11(during the last year, i only used wifi, only 3G for short stuff)17:18
sicelomy n900 that has working modem has broken usb, so i can't really test :-)17:26
arno11:(17:27
sicelobut i'm just going by what little i understand of the hardware. modem problems should not be breaking charging in any way.17:27
arno11agree (from little i understand too)17:28
arno11it does not make sense or maybe there is a bias somewhere17:29
arno11maybe cpufreq idle issue, blocking usb while charging, i don't know17:31
arno11(the issue appears only if screen is off)17:31
arno11anyway, that's not a major issue (quite easy to workaround atm)17:38
arno11h-s-m and boot are far more important17:40
