Mystifiedcan any one help with wlan ath10k_pci is reporting   'BadDLLP' & ' PCIe Bus Error: severity=Correctable, type=Data Link Layer ' I've added to default line this command   'pcie_aspm=off'02:26
fsmithredMystified, stick around. You might get an answer within minutes or hours. It's not a common question.02:33
gnarfaceMystified: not an issue i've heard of, or a kernel command-line option i've heard of, but double check you applied it right by making sure it shows up in /proc/cmdline02:39
gnarfacei think those devices are supposed to work but they also need some firmware that might not be applied by default, so try running "dmesg |grep -i firmware" to see if it's missing any02:45

* onefang wonders if it should be pcie_spam to turn off logging spam?03:50
onefangCoz you kept typing pcie_aspm.03:50
gnarfacehmm...04:53
Mystified https://dpaste.com/B4YY52EUG can you guys help with ath10k_pci error 'BadDLLP' & ' PCIe Bus Error: severity=Correctable, type=Data Link Layer ' I've added to default grub line this command   'pcie_aspm=off'   does this look right ? or will that just mask the issue .07:41
rrqMystified: you could try "pci=noaer" instead or as well08:00
rrqhttps://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/fedora-40-pci-bridge-from-amd-errors-pcie-bus-error-severity-correctable-type-data-link-layer-receiver-id/122955/308:01
amarsh04in case anyone has any good references - what would I need to do on a Devuan system currently running grub-pc on a motherboard that supports both legacy BIOS and UEFI to install EFI?08:02
rrqyou need a FAT32 partition within the first 2G, with an /EFI/BOOT directory tree mounted at /boot/efi, then install grub-efi-amd64 (for 64bit)08:05
rrqthe partition should be marked as "efi partition", which is 0xef for a dos partition table, and some uuid for a gpt partition table08:07
rrqC12A7328-F81F-11D2-BA4B-00A0C93EC93B for GPT08:08
rrq(man sfdisk)08:08
amarsh04sounds like a job for gparted to get the partition made08:09
amarsh04and thanks!08:10
Mystifiedrrq: Thanks08:12
Mystifiedwhat is your recomendation, both or just pci=noaer ?08:12
rrqI'd try only noaer08:13
Mystifiedagain thanks rrq: )08:14
Mystifiedunable to reboot or test until this compile finishes 53349/5729808:17
Mystifiedover 24 hours of compiling08:17
Mystifiedwhat is the correct way to install this .deb pkg from the command line, I've downloaded the deb pkg in to my home folder ? https://dpaste.com/7UPEUS2CV08:41
rrqthe -dbgsym package contains the symbols (only) ... maybe you want "ungoogled-chromium" rather? or actually "chromium" in devuan?08:44
rrq(the symbols are the symbols of the stripped binary, to be used when debugging the binary)08:46
Mystifiedyes, but there is no ungoogled ?08:46
rrqafaiui "chromium" in devuan is the ungoogled but not named as such08:47
rrqnot being an expert on that though08:48
Mystifiedthanks,08:49
Mystifiedi'm googling the dfeerence at this moment08:49
Mystifiedrrq: not successful ! https://dpaste.com/6E46DA79B09:01
Mystifiedon wlan09:01
onefangProbably not something you want to google, any other search engine might be a better choice for this question.09:02
rrqMystified: the device doesn't work?09:04
Mystifiedi'm using it !!09:06
rrqI see it failed on loading some firmware files and then succeeded on some others09:06
Mystifiedlooks like it !09:06
rrqdo you have those files, or does it report like that for missing files?09:07
Mystifiedthis 2-in1 only has wlan, no ethernet09:07
Mystifiedjust atates that it's missing. I'm not much of a techie !09:07
Mystifiedfirmware-atheros/stable-backports,now 20240709-2~bpo12+1 all [installed]09:09
rrqlooks good then (?) those files are not available09:12
Mystifiedhttps://debian.pkgs.org/12/debian-nonfree-firmware-amd64/firmware-atheros_20230210-5_all.deb.html09:15
Mystifiedignore09:15
Mystified202309:15
Mystifiedahh not debian https://pkgs.org/download/atheros-firmware09:16
Mystifiedhow can I install this ? firmware-atheros_20241210-1_all.deb https://packages.debian.org/sid/all/firmware-atheros/download09:21
rrqthat's the "ceres" version (in devuan) .. you're sure you need it? (it doesn't have thos "missing" files either)09:26
rrqsee https://pkginfo.devuan.org/cgi-bin/package-query.html?c=package&q=firmware-atheros=20241210-109:26
Mystifiedthank you, so what do I do with them ?09:28
rrqas the device works, I would ignore those log lines.09:29
Mystifiedok thanks09:30
emanuelDoes anyone here have experience with migrating from Debian sid to Devuan ceres? I followed the guide for bookworm to deadalus but now (after the reboot) USB and Ethernet are not working. Perhaps it is because systemd-modules-load was loading some kernel modules before, but I cannot find any systemd-modules-load configuration. Everything I found was empty. And since only the serial console works I cannot easily reinstall packages19:57
emanuelvia apt. I have to transfer every file I need as base64 using the serial console. I need to migrate from Debian sid because it is a riscv64 system. I cannot simply use a normal installation medium.19:57
emanueli can only use ceres/sid or excalibur/trixie because riscv64 is only officialy supported by Debian since then.20:35
freememanuel: as root, try:23:49
freemudevadm --debug trigger --type=subsystems --action=add23:49
freemudevadm --debug trigger --type=devices --action=add23:49
freemudevadm --debug settle23:49
freemI do not know if that will help, and it will only work for an uptime, this is the stuff I had to put in my runit files for udev23:49
