acmiyaguchii've been doing some work on my n900 to get graphics acceleration working, i was wondering if its broken in the latest release of maemo? it was kind of unusuable02:39
acmiyaguchiI was trying to get pmos working with a openpvrsgx kernel and the xf86-video-omap and sgx-ddk-um sources from leste, but i found (and fixed *i think) some bugs in the x driver that now leads me some segfaults in the pvr kernel module02:41
acmiyaguchifun in a type II kind of way, but it's still unclear to me whats possible or not02:42
acmiyaguchiexit06:56
acmiyaguchioops lol06:56
Wizzuphm... when the user comes back we should check what they were testing exactly10:55
sicelohe wants to use it on postmarketOS.11:20
siceloi've talked to him on their Matrix.11:20
Wizzupah, I guess musl is the challenge here11:30
freemangordonI wonder what were those 'fixes' and why she didn't shared/made MR12:02
arno11Wizzup: maemo-gpt build should work now. could you plz give me jenkins perms for it or at least launch a new build ?13:17
arno11then i'll try to also package new dillo (just needs debianization iirc)13:18
Wizzupok, in a bit (on the move atm)13:23
Wizzupjenkins perms as such a nuisance13:24
Wizzupit a matrix of users x repos13:24
Wizzuplol13:24
arno11ok :) no rush ofc13:25
sicelocool.13:29
sicelowhy links2 is a dep?13:29
siceloand mpg123?13:29
arno11for image generation and tts13:44
arno11all other things i tried were too heavy for n90013:44
arno11ofc that's WIP :)13:45
arno11(@tts, audio in openAI is very specific)13:46
arno11(@img generation, that's a bit tricky in openAI and it needs a browser: and doesn't work with our current dillo)13:50
arno11should be ok with new one, so i'll probably remove links2 dep soon13:52
arno11@audio again, i.e aplay/paplay can't play audio from openAI atm13:55
arno11that's why i use mpg123 (which works very well)13:56
arno11but if someone knows a better option, i'll be happy to try13:57
arno11@links2, maemo-gpt uses links2 gui mode atm to show (and save) the generated img14:12
arno11this way it takes only a couple of sec on n90014:15
arno11cool ! it works fine with new dillo14:31
freemangordonWizzup: any missed calls etc since we fixed the kernel version?14:53
Wizzupfreemangordon: not that I am aware of ;)16:00
mkfhello16:28
Wizzuphi hi16:28
arno11Wizzup: i debianized new dillo locally with no error.17:17
arno11but now i don't know what is the best way to import/migrate it17:18
Wizzupwhat do you mean, import/migrate?17:18
WizzupI can add it to our CI/CD as extras and you can set the few extra debian/control headers that make it show up in extras17:19
arno11i mean we need to fork last dillo first iiuc17:20
arno11and then migrate it to forgejo, no ?17:20
arno11and then add debian stuff. or maybe there is an easier way17:21
Wizzuparno11: what do you mean with debianized then?17:28
Wizzuphttps://git.maemo.org/leste-upstream-forks/dillo17:28
WizzupI think you just take the dillo you build, push it there with all the upstream commit history17:29
Wizzupand then in a separate commit add the 'debianisation'17:29
Wizzupand then make a maemo/... branch, and then we can add it to jenkins and build it17:29
arno11well, scratch that, it wasn't the problem: i have some issues to use git on my device with forgejo...anyway i found a workaround. i'll let you know17:33
sicelommm, what's different vs. github?17:33
arno11idk, issue with credentials. anyway, i use the website now. seems ok17:35
sicelook. btw, i sent you a message on telegram a couple of days ago17:38
Wizzuparno11: please figure out the forgejo issues you have please17:38
Wizzupbtw, maemo-gpt just built17:39
arno11sicelo: oh sorry, will have a look @tg in a bit17:39
arno11Wizzup: nice @maemo-gpt17:40
arno11@issues, np17:40
frederickgeek8Hey there. Is there anyway to fix random poweroffs (related to battery level iirc) on Droid 4 chimera? I believe that it is related to this GitHub issue, but I'm not sure if there are any immediate workarounds https://github.com/maemo-leste/bugtracker/issues/76619:50
sicelochimera? what random poweroffs do you mean ... try and describe how they manifest20:35
sicelowe are expecting problems in daedalus, not chimaera?20:36
sicelothat ticket/issue is for daedalus20:38
frederickgeek8Oh, okay, sorry. I don't have my device on-hand right now (so I can't grab the exact logs) but the behaviour I was seeing was "random poweroffs" that when reading logs (syslog?) seemed to be due to low power. At the time I was seeing this, the battery applet seemed to not be reporting low battery.21:04
frederickgeek8I can definitely grab more information for you later. I can say that this morning I saw the battery applet in the status bar reporting >50% battery but 0 mAh. When I had it on hand earlier, the battery appeared to be somewhat charged (I was unable to grab) but then it powered off.21:08
frederickgeek8Sorry for bringing this up without more information. I misunderstood the background of the ticket as improving calibration w.r.t. chimaera in the upcoming daedalus release.21:09
freemangordonfrederickgeek8: perhaps your batter is 1) uncalibrated and 2) worn out21:30
freemangordon*battery21:30
freemangordonwhen battery is old, its internal resistance increases to the point when high current spike leads to voltage under critical threshold21:31
frederickgeek8both are likely. regarding that issue, I was viewing it (incorrectly) as a potentially more stable way for calibration (once everything is good and merged) and the "workaround" I was asking about was if I could disable poweroff behaviour ala UPower's "CriticalAction" => "Ignore"21:34
freemangordonmost (if not all) of us who use d4, have replaced the battery cell with a one from some motorola (IIRC), while keeping the small build-in board21:35
frederickgeek8Yeah, I will probably replace the battery in this soon. I'm surprised it even holds a charge as well as it does.21:35
freemangordonkeep in mind all "original" batteries are from 2012, so not much of a sense to get one21:35
frederickgeek8Do people have suggestions for Droid 4 batteries? On an iFixIt thread I saw a posting for this one, and it seems from my brief research that people like this company for battery replacements https://extrabatt.com/products/cs-mxt894sl21:36
freemangordonI don;t remember if somebody made a HOWTO on battery cell replacement21:36
freemangordonWizzup: ^^^21:36
freemangordonfrederickgeek8: I doubt this will be 1730 mAh as advertised, more like 800 :)21:37
freemangordonbut well, who knows21:37
freemangordonfrederickgeek8: this https://www.polarcell.de/en/mobile-phone-batteries/lg/others-polarcell-li-polymer-replacement-battery-for-lg-google-nexus-4-e960.html21:50
freemangordonyou should use the cell only and solder EB41 BMS to it21:51
freemangordonnot extremely hard, but some soldering skills are required21:52
arno11Wizzup: forgejo issue fixed22:46
arno11new dillo is ready to build: i added it in extras22:47
arno11btw if you migrate picodrive and pcsx-rearmed to forgejo, i can start working on them23:00
Wizzuparno11: what was the issue?23:22
arno11it didn't work from hsdpa connection...no issue with home wifi23:26
Wizzuphuh...23:39
arno11indeed...huh lol23:54
Wizzupmaybe some mtu issue?23:58
Wizzupfreemangordon: I don't think we have a good document on how to do the battery hack23:59
