systemdleteso upgrading to a newer version of apt-cacher-ng did not help.  I just ran into the same IGN: errors while doing an upgrade.  Updates don't seem to be having a problem, only upgrades.  I re-ran the maintenance again, but still the errors come.  Finally, I restarted the service and that seemed to quiet things donw.00:30

ralphyOn my desktop I am recently seeing lockups when going into suspend. It did work mostly fine until about two to three weeks ago when this started.22:09

gnarface*sigh* well it looks like the video card anyway, i'd try rolling back to the previous kernel or making sure the firmware-amd-graphics package matched the kernel version22:15

gnarfacewhatever you updated when it started happening is suspect22:15

ralphyWhat might be wrong? Software? Graphics card? CPU?22:15
ralphyDid a fresh install that also shows the same symptoms.22:15
ralphyHave some older AM3+ PC in the basement, there it works ok.22:15
gnarfaceit's probably the video driver but it's just a guess22:15
gnarfacemaybe there's a problem with a new kernel you updated to, or maybe you just forgot to also update firmware-amd-graphics when you did it22:16
gnarfacedefinitely looks like a software issue with suspend/resume22:16
gnarfaceone that is not uncommon or unique to this brand22:17
gnarfacenext time please use paste.debian.net for big log dumps please though22:18
ralphyI have tried 6.5, 6.6, 6.7 backports and 6.1.21 stock kernel, all the same. At first I thought its a backports issue because it seemed to have started with the 6.6 kernel. But when looking closer, all kernels tested do the same.23:00
gnarfacei thought you said it used to work right at some point, no?23:01
ralphyThe firmware-amd-graphics is the one from the Daedalus/Bookworm repo dated Feb 2023. Also tried the one dated June 2023 from Testing, also no fix. Newer stuff is only available directly from git.23:03
gnarfacesee if anyone has reported it to debian23:03
gnarfacesometimes you might find a fix or workaround, but sleep isn't something overall well done on linux, lots of drivers fail at it23:05
ralphyIt worked until about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Initially it looked to me like it was related to the 6.6 upgrade, that has been proven to be wrong since I can boot any kernel still available, always the same issue. Maybe I need to try out the old 6.1.0.10 kernel, the oldest one on the PC.23:06
ralphyMy AMD graphics depends on the kernel plus the firmware. AFAIK there has been no related update in the last month (looked at the apt log).23:08
ralphyI have tried to find a bug report and failed.23:09
ralphyI think I got an account at debian.net, I'll try to use that for log dumps in the future.23:10
gnarfacea change to xorg, the window manager, or mesa might be related23:11
gnarfacea driver bug could persist for a long time and never get caught until a new mesa feature exposes it, for examlpe23:12
gnarface*example23:12
gnarfacepackage updates are logged, you can check to see what you updated23:14
gnarfaceno need to guess23:15
ralphyHere is the complete log at forums.debian.net in the pastebin: https://forums.debian.net/app.php/pastebin/?mode=view&s=10523:21
ralphyLeaving for now, will try the oldest Kernel available, and then look at all the apt updates since April.23:22
