Besides basic status values, there are values which represent several
capabilities and the education of your character. These values are called
abilities, skills and talents, and they're used to calculate certain ef-
fects and actions, especially battles. In general, higher values are al-
ways better, but you might also consider to concentrate on a few, i.e. to
specialize in a certain field for maximum efficiency (e.g. specialize in
using swords and firearms, but ignore axes or lances).

"Abilities" describe your, well, abilities to perform certain actions, in-
dependently from certain items or tools. "Fight" describes your ability to
perform combat. "View" determines how far you can look, which is important
for long-range combat and certain magical attacks. "Chant" represents how
well you perfom magic. A high "Steal"-ability allows you to steal without
alarming the guards and to evade traps.

"Skills" describe your abilities to use certain weapons (Sword, Axe, Lance,
Fire-arm) and tools (Spades, Pick-axes). "Talents" are additional abilities,
not fitting in the other categories: "Humility" influences your relationship
with your god and a higher "Trade"-talent gives you advantages in buying and
selling items.
